A colorful 2004 adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic Pride & Prejudice, this Bollywood production has universal appeal. Contemporary India provides a surprisingly equivalent alternative for the original Victorian England setting of the story. Ancient tradition (complete with arranged marriages) collides with the modern world to produce such archetypal characters as William Darcy, Lalita Bakshi, Mr. Kohli, and even Johnny Wickham.
